Elizabeth (Liz) Rene Morris, 65, of Paris, Illinois passed away in her home January 10, 2026. She retired after working several years at Citizens National Bank.

She was born March 13, 1960 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, the daughter of J. C. and Peggy (Henson) Poore. She spent her childhood and early adult years living in various countries and states as the daughter of an Air Force Sergeant before settling down in Paris.

Survivors include one daughter, Kimberly Rene Cusick (Mike Hopkins) of Arthur, Illinois, two grandchildren, Aydson Hopkins and Hayden Hopkins; two sisters, Beth (Poore) Starr of Paris, Illinois and Allison (Peter) Vadopalas of Des Plaines, Illinois; five nieces and nephews, Lindsey (Starr) Cogan, Michael Starr, Adam Starr, Matthew Vadopalas, and John Vadopalas, and many great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Christopher Morris, parents J. C. and Peggy Poore and her brother in law, James (Jim) Starr.

At her best, Liz was a faithful and supportive wife, mother, and sister. She was a reader, an artist, and loved tropical beaches. Her family and friends will remember her fun loving nature, her love of family, and how she danced in the kitchen while cooking her excellent, excellent meals. Liz had a huge heart for service and welcomed any chance to help others.

All services are private. Interment will be in Embarrass Cemetery. Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
