Rose Motley, 89, of Sunnyvale, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2025. She was born in Royce City, Texas, on February 6, 1936. A graduate of Royce City High School, Rose worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone before marrying Fred Motley, of Sunnyvale, TX, in June of 1971.
Rose was deeply involved in her community-serving in the Sunnyvale School PTA and as a co-founder of the Sunnyvale Chamber of Commerce in 2002. She was a fierce and loyal friend to many, known for her sharp wit, independent spirit, and unwavering kindness.
A lover of the outdoors, she found great joy tending to her garden, especially her roses. She remained active throughout her life and loved to travel, always ready for the next adventure or new place to explore. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She was a talented baker renowned for her meringue pies, a testament to her skill and creativity in the kitchen. She loved gathering with friends and family for lively games of dominos and bridge, creating cherished memories filled with laughter.
Rose will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Monti Golla, and son-in-law, Michael Golla, of College Station; her grandchildren, Garrett, James, and Rileigh Golla; and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Motley, brothers Teddy Jones and Joe Humphries. Rose's warmth, kindness, and zest for life will be deeply missed by all who knew her. While we mourn her passing, we celebrate the incredible legacy she leaves behind through her family and the countless lives she touched throughout her journey.
