Oh, Betty, You left too fast. Walt, I know you promised to call me and I was away this weekend on a retreat with about 200 of our teenagers from poor and violent city neighborhoods and rural communities. Upon returning, I began to check emails and discovered that Betty had left for her most important journey... Now she is complete and totally free and happy. Walt, I want badly to be with you and Dionne and David. and the whole clan, for that matter. I'm so full of memories that begin in the house on Dentation with kids everywhere; Helena somehow keeping it all together, Pec hard on all but his baby who had him wrapped around his little finger... so many nights talking till late, etc. And meeting you, Walt, when you were in college and I was a new nun. The start of so many years of fun sass and serious talks between us... I thank God you were able to celebrate your 50th, that your kids planned so beautifully. Again, I happened to be in the US and could be there!!!
I am with you. Walt, how can I get in touch with you? I love you all and am with you -- kids and families, brothers and sisters, Systers... Dianne

I love this picture of Betty. It captures the smile all of her friends and family know so well. It was so genuine, so uniquely hers. That beautiful smile is what will always remember about my cousin, Betty.

You were my favorite teacher at St. George but mostly you were our friend for years afterward. You will be sorely missed. God speed.

My sweet cousin Betty, I will miss you more than you know. Our last few months of reconnecting will be remembered as one of my happiest memories. You were such a bundle of joy and such a classy lady! I thank the Lord for giving me this time with you. Praying for your family for strength and comfort during this sad time. Much love to all of you.
