Elizabeth Rolley Obituary

Elizabeth J. Rolley, 97, formerly of Karthaus, passed away on Monday, Dec. 9, 2024, at her daughter's home in Egg Harbor City, N.J.

Born on May 18, 1927, in Clarence, she was the daughter of the late George and Elizabeth (Puhalla) Dubesky. On May 5, 1947, in Frenchville, she married Ross J. Rolley. Ross passed away on Sept. 29, 1987.

Elizabeth attended Clarence Elementary School and as a young lady, she worked at the Hosiery Mill in Clarence. She then became a "stay at home" mom and created the best home for her family. She was a member of the St. Mary of the Assumption Parish in Frenchville, the Ladies Auxiliary, and the Grange. She attended Mass every day and held a very strong belief in her Lord and Savior.

Elizabeth enjoyed playing games with her children, especially cards, badminton, and basketball. She also liked playing bingo.

Elizabeth was a kind and loving wife and mother who made us who we are today. As a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, her life was marked by her gentle spirit, her faith, and her love that will always be remembered. She was a devoted Catholic all her life and she loved being a homemaker to her nine children. She enjoyed everyone's company, and her warm smile touched many over the years. She will truly be missed.

Elizabeth is survived by eight of her nine children, Ronald Rolley and his wife, Judith, of Frenchville, Rebecca Clark of Lemont, Veronica Rainelli and her partner, Robert Marghilano, of Egg Harbor City, N.J., Patrick Rolley and his wife, Brenda, of Woodbridge, Va., Christopher Rolley of Karthaus, Lisa Dizon of Lemont, Paul Rolley of Oak Hill and Joseph Rolley and his wife, Elizabeth, of Huntingdon; 17 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. Elizabeth is also survived by one sister, Ethel Renaud of Enhaut; and a close family friend, Christine Little of Morrisdale.

Along with her parents and husband, Elizabeth was preceded in death by one son, Douglas Rolley; four brothers, George Dubesky, John Dubesky, Edward Dubesky, and Paul Dubesky; and two sisters, Margaret Miller and Annie Lyter.

Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2024, at 10:15 a.m., at St. Mary of the Assumption Parish in Frenchville with the Rev. Father Bill Barron officiating. Burial will be following Mass at the St. Mary of the Assumption Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St Mary of the Assumption Parish, 64 St. Mary's Lane, Frenchville, PA 16836-0159 or to St. Jude’s Children Hospital, (stjude.com)

Please accept my deepest sympathy on the loss of your mother. Aunt Liz was one of my favorite aunts growing up and she had the greatest smile. I was in awe of how she raised 9 great kids in that little house in Karthaus. May she find peace in the presence of the Lord.
