Elizabeth J. 'Betty' Shaw, age 85 of Campbell, NY passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at Absolut Care of Three Rivers.
Born June 20, 1940, in Montour Falls, NY, Betty was the daughter of the late Percy and Sara (Jayne) Guinnip. She was a graduate of Painted Post High School. On April 3, 1965, she married Maynard Shaw, who predeceased her on March 25, 2024. Betty dedicated her life to her family, working as a loving homemaker and raising her children.
Betty will be lovingly remembered for her passion for baking, cross-stitching, and the care she gave to her family. Above all, what brought Betty the most joy was spending time with her sisters, whether it was enjoying a trip to the movies or a day of shopping together.
Betty is survived by her son, Matthew (Kitty) Shaw of Campbell, NY; daughter, Julie Shaw of North Carolina; five grandchildren: Chelsea Shaw, Mitchell Shaw, David Smith, Samantha Warriner and Brook Northrup; two great grandchildren; brother, James (Helen) Guinnip; sisters: Beverly Karnuth, Dianne (John) Volino, Patty (David) Hammond; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was predeceased by her brother-in-law, James Karnuth
Family and friends are invited to visitation on Saturday, September 27, 2025 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Phillips Funeral Home, 17 W. Pulteney St., Corning, NY. A funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00 pm, Pastor Kevin Austin officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot in Hope Cemetery of Campbell.
