Elizabeth Stehlik

Elizabeth "Betty Jean" Stehlik, 91, of Hampton Township, died Saturday at Barn Hill Care Center in Newton. Born in Moorhead, Mississippi, Mrs. Stehlik grew up in Grenada, Mississippi, and lived in Fair Lawn before moving to Hampton Township 34 years ago. She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace R.C. Church in Branchville and a former volunteer for Newton Memorial Hospital. The daughter of the late John and Alma McGill Dulweber, Mrs. Stehlik was also predeceased by her husband, Charles, in May of 1981. She is survived by two sons, Thomas Stehlik of Hackensack and Richard Stehlik of Morris Plains; one brother, E. William Dulweber of Longview, Texas; and three grandchildren. Funeral services will begin at 8:45 a.m. on Thursday at the Wood Funeral Home, 16 Main Street, Branchville, followed by a 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Queen of Peace R.C. Church in Branchville. Interment will follow at Frankford Plains Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
