Velma Elizabeth "Liz" Verdi, 69 of Fort White, Florida passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family and her caregiver, Lynn Smith, after a long illness. She was born on November 20, 1956, in Miami, Florida and moved to Fort White in 1998. She was the only daughter of the late Earl Wingard and Agnes Addison. Mrs. Verdi was a graduate of Carol City High School class of 1974. She worked with her husband for 40 years, side by side, at Badcock and More Furniture and retired 7 years ago. Mrs. Verdi enjoyed her 20 plus cats and could never leave a stray animal behind. She enjoyed Elvis and went to Graceland often and considered Disney World her favorite "happy place". Mrs. Verdi was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, James Frederick Addison; and her sister, Beverly Wingard.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Timothy G. Verdi; sons, David T. Verdi and Richard Jay Verdi; brothers, Jimmy Addison, Terry Addison, Pete Wingard, Danny Wingard, Doug Wingard and Steve Wingard; sister, Stacy Tillman; and numerous nieces and nephews

Funeral services for Mrs. Verdi will be conducted on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with entombment immediately following. A time of visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
