Elizabeth Ann (Murski) Wunderlich passed away in the early hours of November 30, 2024, after bravely facing pancreatic cancer. Those who knew her will remember her selflessness; she remained concerned for others, even in her final moments, worried about the impact on their holiday. Liz, as she was affectionately called, was born on January 8, 1959, to Julian and Lonie Mae (Eickenhorst) Murski. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Brenham. She attended Brenham schools and graduated in 1977. On July 3, 1993, she married the love of her life, David Wunderlich.
Liz worked as a waitress for most of her life, even earning the Banner-Press Reader’s Choice award for best waitress. In the last 20+ years, she enjoyed serving customers at various cleaners. She worked up until she was no longer able.
Some of Liz's favorite activities included joy riding across Washington County, taking gambling trips to Naskila or Louisiana, watching football and cheering for her beloved Houston Astros, and participating in pitch tournaments whenever she had the chance.
Liz is survived by her loved ones she leaves behind, husband, David; daughter, Cyndi Klausmeyer and special friend Donald Roehling; sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Randy Klausmeyer; brother and sister-in-law, Timothy and Denise Murski; mother-in-law, Loraine Wunderlich; brother-in-law, Edd Wunderlich; sister-in-law, Shannon Wunderlich; nieces and nephews, Amy and David Moreno, Kayla Klausmeyer and special friend Joe Gaffey, Katie Murski and Dason Wunderlich; and special friend, Kim Kopecky.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Connie Murski; father-in-law, Auggie Wunderlich; plus numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
The pallbearers will be Glenn Eickenhorst, Mark Eickenhorst, Russell Klausmeyer, Kenny Krueger, Coy Surrett and Fidel Trevino. The honorary pallbearer will be Darnell Surrett.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday December 4, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Interment will be held at Calvary Catholic Cemetery following the service.
