Ella Mae (Barton) Bryant, age 90, of Arnett, Oklahoma peacefully completed her earthly journey on October 19, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at her home.

Born on March 5, 1935, in Higgins, Texas, to Buel "Blue" Barton and Addie Estelle (Hailey) Barton, Ella Mae spent her formative years in the Higgins Community. At the age of 18, she was baptized at the Church of Christ. She attended grade school in the Bishop community and graduated with the Class of 1953.

On July 27, 1954, Ella Mae married the love of her life, Billy Bryant, who was home on a thirty-day leave from his military service in Korea. The couple made their first home in El Paso, Texas, until Billy completed his service. Except for that time, they spent their 71 years of marriage in Ellis County, Oklahoma, where they raised their two daughters, Reta and Wanda.

Ella Mae was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She worked alongside Billy in their café and dry cleaners' business and later retired as the janitor at the Ellis County Courthouse. Despite her work, she always made time for her family and the simple joys of life-sewing, baking, and putting a puzzle together. She was known for her love of creating beautiful clothing for her daughters, baby blankets for her grandchildren, and sweet treats for all who gathered around her. Her Coca-Cola cake and chocolate chip cookies became legendary, particularly among her grandkids and the local high school students, who affectionately referred to her as "Granny Bravo."

Ella Mae was preceded in death by her parents, in-laws, and her beloved grandson, Nevan McCartor.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Billy Bryant, of the home; daughters, Reta Smith of Arnett, Oklahoma, and Wanda Hise of Aledo, Texas; four grandchildren: JB McCartor and wife Tabitha of Arnett, Oklahoma, Marc and wife Taylor of Canonsburg, PA, Hunter and wife Tabitha of Aledo, Texas, and Haley Hise of Fort Worth, Texas; and eight great-grandchildren: Hallie, Landon, and Rhett McCartor, Mackenzie, Elliotte, and Calvin McCartor, and Addison and Sutton Hise. She is also survived by many extended family members, friends, and loved ones who will cherish her memory.

Ella Mae's life was defined by love, faith, and quiet strength. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, devotion, and a family who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
