Mrs. Ella Jo "JoMom" (Clark) Davis passed from this life to her heavenly home with Jesus, June 25, 2025. We ask for your sincere prayer for the family, as we celebrate her home-going, as she's taken her first steps into the arms of her Savior, our Lord Jesus Christ, our Reigning King, Messiah, Wonderful Counselor, Prince of Peace, Yahweh, Heavenly Father, Comforter and Friend! Mrs. Davis was known as "JoMom" to most anyone that knew her for very long time at all.

Mrs. Davis was a member of New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church, Colt, AR where she attended with her eldest daughter LaNan (Virgil) Keeler and the extended family as well in all the years past as a child. As an adult she led the children's choir, she was an adult Choir member. Mrs. Davis worked in Bible school when it was possible.

Mrs. Davis's late husband Troy Davis served as a deacon at NPMBC as did her father (John Randolph Clark). Her immediate family was active members of NPMBC from years before, each worked diligently in the church family until their life of services was through.

Mrs. Davis spent time in other church families at Caldwell Baptist Church, Caldwell, AR, Temple Baptist Church of Roger's AR and First Baptist Church, Forrest City, AR before returning to her home church at New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church, Colt, AR.

JoMom loved to crochet Afghans as a past time hobby. We guess every new baby in all the churches she attended, all her children, grandchildren, great-grands all have one of their own precious Afghans, "especially made for you" – by JoMom, as she is called. JoMom also had an outstanding special "Doll" collection of Lee Middleton and Madam Alexander Dolls including babies and toddlers with names such as Chatty Cathy and Sambo, Randal, Miss "B", etc. to name a few.

JoMom loved southern gospel music. She sang in and as a part of Mixed QT at the home church at NPMBC and loved attending the (NQC) National Quartet Conventions and other concerts often for many years. She and her late husband (the love of her life), traveled the country if it was possible for the gospel concerts in IL, TN, KY, MS, etc.

JoMom's grands brought her much joy. "Family Time" was special when we all showed up at Mama's or JoMom's for Hodgepodge stew and Mexican cornbread or that favorite by all the Mexican Salad. The family knew her labor for the family was hard for JoMom many times, due to her suffering with Scoliosis in her back.

Mrs. Davis retired after 56 years of service at the State of Arkansas. First of which started her tenure with Child Services in the late 60's – 70's, then with AR Welfare Department until 1974 when she joined the team of East Arkansas Community College, in Forrest City, in 1995 she went to Northwest Arkansas Community College in Bentonville, where she remained until her retirement in 2015, where she finished 40 plus years with the community colleges in her positions as Secretary to the President. JoMom's policy was, "If you had a job, you needed to be at that job everyday", and she was. She made it her mission to be at work each morning and coffee ready, the bosses' desk was readied for the day, then she was at her desk when the college President walked in. She has been reaping the benefits of that commitment since her retirement in 2015.

Mrs. Davis leaves a family of Love and Compassion, a daughter of the home Jo LaNan Keeler (Virgil) of Colt, AR, daughter Janya Beth Roland (Tony) of Slaydon, MS, four grandchildren; Aarlah Beth Roland, AL, Heidi Noele Lynch (Jacob), MS, Jonathan Eli Roland (fiancé` Rebecca Brigance), MS, and grandson Master Gideon Chase Roland and a great-grandson; Master Dalton Troy Reeves., one sister; Linda Kay Hillis (Larry), AR, one brother-in-law; Bill Davis, TX, one sister-in-law; Judy Davis, AR and a host of nieces and nephews located across this wonderful country we call AMERICA!

Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years: Troy Davis, her father and mother: John Randolph (Myrtle Mann Clark, three sisters; NanJane Danehower, Roberta Clause, Beatrice Guthrie, one brother; John Logan Clark, aunts, uncles and brothers and sisters in law as well.

The family will receive visitors Sunday evening at the New Prospect Baptist Church in Colt from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Funeral services will be Monday at 10 am at the New Prospect Baptist Church with burial at the Cogbill Cemetery immediately following the service. Bro Tonny Williams and Bro. Ron Fields will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church or the Hemophilia Foundation.

The family wants to express our thanks to the Gentiva Hospice Care: "Our Personal Care Team", Real People become Real Personal Friends.
