Ella Mae Ougel

1931 - 2024

Ella Mae Ougel, age 92, passed away peacefully with her daughters at her side on September 9, 2024. Ella Mae was born in Cut Off, Louisiana on November 28, 1931 to Alvina Gaudet Ougel and Leonce Ougel Sr. She had a happy life growing up as the baby in the family along with six siblings. She moved to Jefferson Parish in the late 40s and married Burton Breaux, and together they had three daughters. Ella Mae loved being a mother and homemaker. She enjoyed all of the get-togethers with family and friends. She enjoyed all of her in-laws since Burton had so many siblings in his family. She loved her family and all her nieces and nephews. She survived by daughters, Gail Reyes and Brenda (Steven) Palmer; her grandchildren: Mark, Kelly, Marissa and Ashley; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. Ella Mae was preceded in death by her daughter, Evelyn Miller; her grandson, Brandon Miller; and her siblings: Bronnel, Edward, Leonce, Morris, Aline and Ethel. Services for Ella Mae Ougel will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at Garden Of Memories Funeral Home & Cemetery, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie, Louisiana.
