Ellen Cook Obituary
Born on December 19, 1950, Ellen was a proud graduate of Lady Cliff Academy in Peekskill, New York, Class of 1969. She began her professional life with dedication and compassion, working for over ten years with Edilson, Letterman & Cohen OBGYN in Poughkeepsie, NY. Following moves with her family, Ellen continued her career in the medical field-six years in Indianapolis and five years in Connecticut-making lasting connections everywhere she went.
In 2003, Ellen and Larry settled in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, a place they joyfully called home. Ellen worked with Pawleys Island Adult Medicine and Pediatrics until her retirement in 2018, where she was known for her warmth, kindness, and steady professionalism.
Ellen was a loving mother to her two sons, Daniel and Christopher Sanseverino, and a proud grandmother to Chloe, Isabella, Evan, and Kara. Her family was her greatest joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Ellen's life was filled with many passions. She loved baking, found peace in sailing, and enjoyed attending car shows with Larry and their prize-winning Mustang. She was also a proud, long-standing member of the Elks, where she once served as First Lady, contributing her time and heart to the organization.
Ellen will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her devotion to family, and the joy she brought to everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Services will be held on December 19th at Burroughs Funeral Home in Murrells Inlet. Visitation will begin at 2:00 PM, followed by a 3:00 PM service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ellen's memory to the Murrells Inlet Elks Lodge 2797, PO Box 1746. Murrells Inlet, SC 29576 earmarked for Alzheimer's.

I cannot even remember where Ellen and I first met. I know we were teenagers. A lot of my friends were Ladycliff girls so my guess is that we met through a mutual friend or two, perhaps at a party. Anyway, I liked her right away as she was sweet and friendly. Years went by before we reconnected at a Peekskill High School reunion. Once Ellen came to the first one, she and Larry were onboard for all the rest we had. I, along with another friend Kathi, ran the reunions and we wanted our Ladycliff girls to be part of it. Larry loved our reunions so much he said he would only attend ours in the future. Even though Ellen was struggling last year, Larry brought her to our final reunion. She was surrounded by girls she went to school with and I believe she loved being there. After my husband and I moved to NC, we would sometimes go to Myrtle Beach. We would meet up with them and one night we went to a German Restaurant. As we went in, there was a film crew recording the restaurant for a tourism commercial. We were in that ad. Ellen saw it play but I didn´t so she sent it to me. I laugh about it because a few days before we went, I had my hair cut by a woman who told me she could cut my hair to match a photo I brought. She botched it so badly, I almost cancelled our trip. Ellen told me she liked my hair which made me feel better. We would talk on the phone from time to time and it turned out that we had so many common bonds. So wherever she and I met, it made a lasting impression for both of us. I will treasure her memory forever. Rest in peace Sweet Ellen. My deepest condolences to Larry, Ellen´s sons and their families, her siblings and their families, and all of Ellen´s friends. She will be greatly missed.
