Ellen Jane (Wallace) Fisher, 78, rural Peru, passed away at 11:20 p.m. on Monday, January 12, 2026, at Blair Ridge Health Campus, Peru.
Born January 15, 1947, in Anderson, Indiana, she was the daughter Gilbert Alvin and Dorothy Lucille (Coons) Wallace. On March 20, 1993, at the Mexico Church of the Brethren, she was married to Allen Lee Fisher.
Ellen was a member of the Peru Church of the Brethren. She had worked at Dana Corp in Andrews and at Miami County Casa. Ellen was a talented crafter, spending many hours crocheting beautiful lace items or piecing together intricate greeting cards. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens and her time with friends with the Belles and Bowes Square-dance Club.
Survivors include her husband, Allen Fisher, Peru; children, Kathy (Chris) Gamble, Andrews; and Paula (Shelby) Sprouse, Huntington; Lori (Robert) Pratt, Denver; Dawn (Tony) Nero, Warsaw; and Terry (Kathy) Fisher, Van Buren; eleven grandchildren, Morgan Gamble, Ft. Wayne, and Connor Gamble, Huntington; Cody (Cassidy) Gamble, Huntington; Michael Pearson, Huntington; Amanda (Chad) Harding, Wabash; Bobby (Marissa) Pratt, Peru; Nathan Pratt, Denver; Shaun Barnes, Rochester; and Acacia Teel, South Bend; Jackey (Charlie) Pate, Van Buren; and Jacie Boan, Van Buren; many great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Russell Wallace, Melvin Lee, and Larry Reichenbaugh, and a great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 16, 2026, at McClain Funeral Home, Denver, with Pastor Matt Myers officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Mexico.
Visitation will be 4-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at the funeral home.
