Ellen M Lehr

Ellen Mary Vennemeyer Lehr, aged 87, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2025 at The Lodge Nursing and Rehab Center in Loveland. She was born on May 28, 1937 in Cincinnati, Ohio to George and Nellie Vennemeyer. Ellen was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, wife, daughter, sister and friend.

Visitation will be held on June 4, 2025, from 10 a.m. until noon at Gilligan Funeral Home, 8225 Montgomery Road in Kenwood. Interment services will follow at Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, 11000 Montgomery Road in Cincinnati. Ellen was a graduate of Mount Notre Dame High School and excelled in art. She later began crafting magical Christmas trees with elaborate hand-cut and painted ornaments. Her trees were in demand at craft shows throughout Cincinnati.

She was married to the late Louis Lehr and had four adoring sons: Mark (Kathy) Lehr of Maineville; Steve (Julie) Lehr of Hilton Head, South Carolina; Bob (Lisa) Lehr of Landen and Matt (Susan) Lehr of Washougal, Washington. Ellen was a much-loved grandmother to Lisa (Jason) Howard, Ross (Marisa) Lehr, Ryan (Abby) Lehr, Alex Lehr, Emily (George) Zito, Rob Langford, Brad Langford, Lauren Lehr, Katie Lehr and Charlie Lehr. She was thrilled to welcome two great-grandchildren, Wyatt Langford and Chase Lehr.

Ellen was deeply loved by her three surviving sisters, Mary Williams, Jeanne Franz and Margo Wachs. She also enjoyed spending time with her many nieces, nephews and friends. She was a member of All Saints Church and the Loveland Garden Club. Ellen loved having family and friends for dinner and taking vacations with her family, where she was always laughing and enjoying life.
