Ellen Roarty

Ellen Roarty, lovingly known as "Grammy" or "Grams," passed away peacefully on September 10, 2025, at Kaiser Hospital in Santa Rosa, California, at the age of 97. Born on September 14, 1927, in Tishmane, Cararoe, County Galway, Ireland, Ellen grew up surrounded by the traditions and culture of her Irish homeland. She later built a beautiful life in California, where she was devoted to her roles as a mother, grandmother, and wife. Ellen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Patrick Roarty, who passed away on June 5, 2021. Together, they shared a life full of love, family, and cherished memories. Her was also preceded in death by her granddaughter Kasie O'Mara. She will be deeply missed by her children: John Roarty, Elizabeth O'Mara, and Patricia Manni. Ellen was the proud grandmother of Austin O'Mara, Erin O'Mara, Claudia Manni, Sean Manni, and Kevin Manni. She is also survived by four siblings: Kay Fenton of Windsor, CA, Sean Fenton of Boston, MA, Tom Fenton of England, and Brigid Corbett of Boston, MA. Ellen was a woman of many talents, including knitting, and she was an enthusiastic sports fan, especially of the San Francisco Giants and the San Francisco 49ers. Above all, her greatest joy came from spending time with her family. A Rosary will be recited at Windsor Healdsburg Mortuary on Thursday, September 25, 2025 at 5pm. A Funeral Mass will be on Friday, September 26, 2025 at 11am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Healdsburg, CA. To follow a graveside service will be held at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Santa Rosa. Ellen's warmth, kindness, and love will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.
