Ellen E. Serban

Ellen E. (Terry) Serban, 96, of Canton, passed away peacefully in Florida, on February 12, surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 16, 1927 in Alliance, to the late Homer and Hilda Terry. She graduated from Lincoln High School (1945) and the Aultman Hospital School of Nursing (1948). She was employed as a registered nurse at Diebold (26 yrs.) and Canton Drop Forge (9 yrs.). Ellen was a member of Dueber United Methodist Church and Lady Lake Methodist Church. A dedicated mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she was devoted to her family and was very proud of all their accomplishments. She was a member of the Lincoln High School Alumni and the Aultman College Alumni, where she served on the board for many years. She also belonged to "The Young Nurses" card club which was started by her classmates in 1948. Left to cherish her memories are her brother, Glenn Terry of Florida, children; Lynne (Roy) Comfort of Florida, Saralu Sarac of Canton, Matthew (Betsy) Wilson of Illinois, and daughter-in-law Patti Wilson of Illinois; grandchildren, Melissa McRae, Cassandra (Damien) Cannane, Matthew Wilson, Stephanie (Anthony) Barkan, Katie Hennelly and great grandchildren; Logan and Lily Cannane, Gavin and Emery McRae and Sophia Barkan. In addition to her parents, Ellen was preceded in death by her loving husband, George, 2 infant sisters and eldest son, Mark Wilson. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 24, 2023 at Reed Funeral Home Canton Chapel, 705 Raff Rd. SW Canton, Ohio 44710 from 5pm to 7pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 11am with Pastor Scott Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Hills Burial Park.
