JERRY RETZLOFF
April 19, 2016
"FUNSEEKER" charter member Ellen Shumate was a true friend of mine. She once told me that if I was on the side of the road, parked, from having too much fun, and she found out, she would drive wherever I was and rescue me and vehicle and return me to Houston. There would be no money from me, just a thank you.
I talked to Ellen by phone at least 2 or 3 times a week for many years. I always knew it would be at least one hour long and had to be ready. We laughed and joked a lot but had to touch on politics and people we knew, which were many sports and entertainment people, plus friends.
I will miss Ellen until we meet again with the "BIG GUY" in the sky and we will laugh and joke forever.
Not to worry Ellen, you made it.
Love you, Jerry

I Love to think about the last time I saw her when she, Pat & I went to Lake Charles! What a great time and then partying at her house. Such sweet memories of a very dear, dear sweet BFF. I'LL miss her forevermore!

I was so surprised to hear that Ellen had passed. I worked with her while she was at the Holiday Inn. She always had a smile on her face and in her eyes. She loved the hotel and the employees. She is a special person and will be missed.
