Ellen Marie Smith Stroud entered the gates of Heaven on March 25, 2025. She was born to Odis and Rena Smith in Ozark Arkansas on January 24, 1952. A sweet, Christian lady that loved people. She retired from Walmart as the over the counter manager for the pharmacy after 32 years. A member of West Baptist Church for 42 years. She loved her grandchildren from the bottom of her heart. She enjoyed deer and turkey hunting with her husband, sons, and daughter in law. She loved her pets and the deer she fed daily in the back yard and a lover of nature. She enjoyed watching Razorback football, basketball, softball, and baseball with her husband and children.
Preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Elizabeth Smith and Rita Sue Smith.
Survivors include her husband, Gary D. Stroud of 42 years; two sons, Jeremy M. Lessley (Chantel) of Batesville and Kris L. Stroud of Excelsion Springs, MO; two brothers, Dwayne Smith (Nancy) of Mulberry, AR and Rocky J. Smith (Sandra) of Ozark, AR; grandchildren, Morgan Lessley Wimberley (Andrew) of Batesville; Avery Scout Lessley of Little Rock, Katelynn Stroud of Excelsion Springs, Dalton River Stroud of Excelsion Springs; great grandchildren, Asher and Archer Wimberley; step grandson, Trevor Finnie; one uncle, Jim Trotter of Fort Smith along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 28, 2025, 2:00 P.M. at the West Baptist Church in Batesville with Bro. Alan Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Roselawn cemetery located at Batesville.
Arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service.
Visitation will begin Thursday, March 27, 2025 from 6-8 P.M at the Qualls Batesville Chapel.
Pallbearers will be Keith Harmon, Barry Farrell, Bob Pomeroy, Andrew Wimberley, Brian Reaves, and Shannon Huff.
Honorary Pallbearers are The Women of West.
