Ellen Rae Sylvester

Ellen Rae Sylvester, 38, of Marinette, passed away January 29, 2015, at Bay Area Medical Center. She was born June 27, 1976 in Norway, Michigan. Ellen graduated from Marinette High School and had been employed at L.E. Jones Co. in Menominee. She married Derek Sylvester on May 12, 2001. Her entire life, Ellen was a loving, generous and compassionate person. She was a loving and dedicated mother, providing for her daughters before herself. Hers was a life cut too short and she will be greatly missed. Ellen is survived by her husband, Derek; two daughters, Shelby Atwood and Katelyn Sylvester; her mother and step-father, Jane E. (Sebero) Bucholtz and Duane Bucholtz of Porterfield; brothers, Ronald Vertz (Tori) of Menominee, Daniel Vertz of Wausaukee, Bradley Vertz (Tamie) of Green Bay and Elwood Walstrom of Menominee; a step-brother, Mike Bucholtz of Oak Creek; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jerry and Karen Sylvester; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call from 4 until 7 p.m. on Friday, January 30, 2015, at Hansen-Onion-Martell funeral home in Marinette. Visitation will continue at Zion Lutheran Church in Marinette after 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 31st. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. on Saturday with the Rev. Keith Kolstad officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Memorial Gardens, next to her grandmother.
