Ellen Rose Williams, 90, of Conway, passed on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2025, at Superior Health & Rehab Center. Born on April 15, 1935, she was the daughter of Edward Marshall and Lesta Mae (O'Mary) Gorman.
Mrs. Williams was a graduate of Hampton High School and then went on to attend Baptist Hospital to obtain her license in nursing. She worked as a nurse and cared for many patients at Harris Hospital for 37 years, until her retirement. Along with her patients, she also cared greatly for her co-workers and consistently worked on Christmas to allow families with small children to have time off. Mrs. Williams always celebrated with her family the week prior with a well-organized extravaganza of food and gifts. After Mrs. Williams' retirement, she moved to Little Rock to be with family and became an integral part of her grandchildren's lives. She was a member of the Hampton Victory Baptist Church.
Mrs. Williams enjoyed reading, fishing and bowling in a league. She also enjoyed watching birds and all kinds of wild life. Mrs. Williams was an avid Arkansas Razorback fan and enjoyed watching football. She enjoyed her many longstanding friendships, and enjoyed trips to the Grand Canyon, Nashville, Las Vegas, Virginia, cruises, along with trips to casinos with her late husband. Mrs. Williams' greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she loved very much.
Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Williams; her daughter, Tammy Black; a great-granddaughter, Chloe Meena; three brothers, Billi, Ronnie and George Gorman; her parents; and her former husband, Billy Mac McChristian. She was also preceded in death by a special friend, Chris Christiansen.
She is survived by her two daughters, Teresa Huff and husband, Milton, of Conway, and Gayle Goodwin and husband, Whit, of Little Rock; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and a lifetime of friends.
