I do not have many memories with Aunt Ellie. The one that sticks out is where you and your family came down to your sister's house (aunt Mary) before she passed.

To the Murphy family: You have deepest sympathy. Ellie was a great person, I have many fond memories of her. We had some good conversations at the Tavern. Ellie went to sleep and woke up with God, Barney, Mike and Kelly. May God bless all of you.

Lorraine, Kenny, Chris, Shelby and all of the Murphy Family,
This is such a difficult time for all of you and if I could take away the hurt and heartache, I certainly would. Ellie was a wonderful lady, a good down to earth person, who raised a wonderful family. She was always talking about your kids and bragging about every accomplishment that each of you had.
My favorite story, as I told Kenny on the phone the other day, was when your mom said that when you all lived in Ralston that if your dad thought he had messed up or made your mom mad, he would come walking up with a "melting" ice cream cone from the Ralston Dairy Den to apologize. What a great story for all of you to hold on to.
That's what you have to do now, focus on the good times, the funny things, the family holidays, dinners and get togethers-Remember what was so wonderful for all of you as a family, growing up. Remember how Gene and Ellie were there for each of you-and take time now to share the stories with each other. There will be tears of sadness, of course, but once those stories start I'm sure there will also be tears of laughter and joy.
You were all blessed to have your Mom for so many years and she was such a strong lady. She lost three sons and yet she was still there for each of you.
So sorry for your loss,
Trish Trofholz
