Elliott W. "Bud" Hawkes

Westford - Elliott W. "Bud" Hawkes, Jr., beloved husband of Judith W. (Frazier) Hawkes,  a resident of Westford passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at the Lowell General Hospital following a brief illness. He was 91.

Born in Augusta, Maine, Bud was the son of Elliott W. and Edith (Shawler) Hawkes. He was raised on the family dairy farm in Manchester, Maine where he helped his father during his childhood.

Bud attended the University of Maine where he earned his business degree. He was a member of the Phi Kapa chapter of the Alpha Delta Fraternity while at UMaine and kept in touch with his fraternity brothers throughout his life.

Bud and Judy settled in Westford in 1970 and he established North Hill Associates and was active with his business until he retired at age 80. Bud was a member of the Mayflower Society being a descendant of Isaac Allerton. He was also the past president of Hawkes Family Association.

Bud and Judy enjoyed traveling and traveled extensively in their retirement and most recently with their family dog Mignon.

Bud is survived by his wife of 59 years Judy. He was predeceased by their son Elliott W. Hawkes, III who died in 2022.

Relatives and friends will be received at the Westford Healy Funeral Home, 57 North Main Street from 9:30 until 10:30 AM on Thursday, April 4th. His funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM in the United Methodist Church, 10 Church Street Westford. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
