To My Beloved Grandfather:
I am privileged to be your only grandchild to have the name of your only son and to carry your name, which was passed from you, through him, to me. Although you are no longer with us physically, you will always be with us in sprit.
Nowhere else can you find a sweeter refuge
Then you've found with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ

I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to know Cousin Ellis and have some fond memories of a man who appeared to have had that perfect peace. I was sorry to hear of his homegoing. But, I have the joy of knowing that we will meet again.
I can hear his voice saying, "Hey Joe, I was saying...," to my mom. Having grown up with my mom, his many visits to Louisiana often included a vist to see Josephine Reado Every, his first cousin.
May God continue to bless the family.

Dear Family, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of my first cousin, Ellis. I am Joseph Butler, the oldest son of Johnny Butler (and Viola Butler (Hampton)), who was the brother of Julia (my "Auntie Mutts"). I share the family's grief!

I am sorry to hear of the passing of our cousin Ellis. I remember meeting him at the family reunion in the 80's. Even though some of our family has not seen or heard from one another in a long time, I pray that we will get together again for a Reunion in the near future. Dear Uncle Ellis,
I will miss you dearly. It's been so long since I've seen you, and I wish that I could've seen you one more time. I can remember being so excited when you would come and visit us, and as my mother said, the way you use to make your presence know by ringing the doorbell! I am very tearful, but I wipe them away because I know where you are, and I will be joining you again.

I have such fond memories of you and your annual visits to New Orleans--your sense of humor, your love of cornbread and your sister's pecan pralines, your helpful spirit, and most of all, the way you raaaaang our doorbell!! (SMILE) Sorry I could not be there to see you off, but I take comfort in knowing that we will meet again. Hallelujah! Rest in peace.
