Elma "Ruth" Allred Dyson a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away on Monday, February 2, 2026 at the ripe old age of 101. Ruth was the third oldest of 7 children. She was born to Alma and Ruth Coates Allred on September 8,1924 in Mt. Pleasant, Utah. She was a loving sister to Berdean Allred, Bruce Allred, Arda Blackham, Mont Allred, Ace Allred and Alan Allred, who all preceded her in death. After graduating high school at the age of 17, she and her best friend Elaine, packed their bags and moved to the big city of Salt Lake. Mom went to work as a waitress at the Banner Diner where she met the cute cook, Mel Dyson. After their courtship, they were married at the Fort Douglas Chapel on October 21, 1943. Mom supported Dad in his military endeavors in Wendover, Nevada, Henderson, Nevada and overseas as a caring military wife. While he was away, she worked as a secretary for Utah Oil Company. Upon Dad's successful return, they built their family home where she peacefully passed away. The family home was built with their loving hands to support and care for their children Pete (Sharon deceased), Susan Shields (Bob deceased), Terry Black (Ray), Mitch (Judi) and Brad Dyson along with 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. Mom's love of reading and hiking got her through the good times and the hard. Mom loved her family with all her heart and was always a great supporter. Mom will be laid to rest with Dad at Veterans Cemetery & Memorial Park in Bluffdale, Utah in a graveside service on February 11, 2026 at 11:00 AM per her wishes. Always and Forever with Love. Special thanks to Benjamin with his beautiful music, along with Christy, Clara and Johnathan for their caring love and home health support.
