Elma Marie Redden

Elma Marie Redden, daughter of the late Stella Taylor DeProw and Joseph DeProw, departed this world into her heavenly home on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at the age of 91 after suffering for several years with Lewey Bodies Dementia.
Elma was born on March 10, 1932, in Tallapoosa, Missouri. She and her two brothers, Leo and Wesley DeProw, grew up there and attended Gideon High School. In 1950, she moved to East St. Louis, Illinois, with her husband, Virgil Redden, who preceded her in death. She lived in the St. Louis area for over 50 years.
During that time, she had a long career working for the Federal Reserve Bank in St. Louis. When she retired, she still continued to work parttime at Mercantile Bank in St. Louis.
Eventually she moved near Atlanta, Georgia, to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Stephen Dartt. She lived with them for over 13 years before moving into an assisted-living home and then memory care facility.
She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Mountain Park while living near Atlanta.
She leaves behind one daughter, Phyllis Redden Dartt, her son-in-law, Stephen Dartt, one grandson, Michael Dartt, his wife, Lydia Dartt, two great grandchildren, Julia and Corey Dartt as well as two brothers with their spouses, Leo and Shirley DeProw, and Wesley and Millie DeProw. She is also survived by several nephews, and their families.
Family and friends may call at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden, Missouri on Saturday, December 30th. Visitation will be from 10:00 am-11:00 am followed the funeral with Bro. Dale Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
