Elma Salinas

Elma R. Salinas, 83, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026. She was born November 5, 1942, in Los Ebanos, Texas.

She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was also a faithful servant and an active member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, where she taught and facilitated many spiritual classes.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Fidelio R. Salinas Sr., and her four children, Roxanna (Marcos) Gutierrez, Fidelio (Deborah) Salinas II, Cynthia (Guale) Salinas and Velma Hinojosa.

She is also survived by her 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren (and counting).

She was preceded in death by her parents, Francisco & Emilia Rivas and several siblings.

We will forever miss her beautiful smile. She was clever, fun, funny and was guided by her faith. Her two priorities were God and family. If anyone is in heaven, she is. Rest forever in gentle peace, she is now with her Savior. Our hearts ache but we don't grieve without hope. The same Jesus who faithfully walked beside her, has now welcomed her home. We love you Mom.

A visitation celebrating Elma's life will be held at 6pm on Thursday, March 12, 2026, following with rosary at 7pm. Under the direction of Tim Brown with Brown Family Funeral Home at 701 E Interstate Hwy 2, Mission, Tx 78572. Funeral Mass will be held the next day at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 620 N Dunlap, Mission, Tx, at 11:30am following with Burial at Serenity Fields Cemetery, 2517 Inspiration Rd, Mission, Tx.
