Bud, was a quality individual with a gentlemanly personality. He was a good Civil War buff and friend.

I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Bud Atkinson. He was a great asset to the SUVCW and a valiant veteran of World War II. He admitted me to the Anna M. Ross Camp over 35 years ago. He will be sorely missed.
With sincere sympathy,

Dear Margaret & Atkinson Family & Friends
We at the G.A.R. Museum & Library all wish to express our sincere sympathy and condolences at the passing of our founding president and long time supporter, 'Bud' Atkinson.
He and Margaret, too have been an inspiration to our efforts to preserve the history of the old veterans of the Grand Army of the Republic.
Bud will be missed and we mourn his passing.
May you all be comforted in this trying time.
Sincerely
Andy Waskie

Bud, thankyou and your wife for everything you have done for the Civil War family. I played with the 28th PA BRASS Band for 14 Blue and Grey Balls. Loved every minute of it. Your a Great man.
