Elmer Lee Burton Jr. 77, of Morehead, Kentucky passed away Monday, June 24, 2024, at his home.
He was born in Fleming County on November 6, 1946, to the late Elmer Lee Burton Sr. and Betty Mae Wagnor Burton.
Elmer was a United States Army veteran and proudly served during the Vietnam War. He later went on to serve in the Army Reserve. He worked for 19 years at Seal Master along with serving as Auxiliary Deputy at the Courthouse. He enjoyed trading guns, hunting and anything outdoors.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ella Adkins Burton, one grandchild, Taylor Lewis and one sister, Hazel Bromwell.
Survivors include three sons, Mitchell Burton (Linda) of West Liberty, Kentucky, Robert Burton (Melissa) of Morehead and Michael Ray Burton (Jill) of Clearfield, Kentucky, one daughter, Kimberly Ann Burton of Morehead, two brothers, Larry Burton (Karen) of Winchester, Kentucky and Richard Burton (Jackie) of Olive Hill, Kentucky, five sisters, Glenna Fletcher (James) of Erlanger, Kentucky, Myrtle Beamon, Lois Ann "Connie" Eastham (Eddie), Martha Stevens and Brenda Burton all of Morehead, Kentucky, eleven grandchildren, Jesse Burton (Katie), Cory Burton, Zachery Burton, Allie Saylor, Katie Burton, Logan Burton, Bryan Burton, Ashley Hignite (Chris), Cody Burton, Tamera Mocabee and Paige Mocabee and eight great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted 1:00 PM Saturday, June 29, 2024, in the Chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead. The service will be followed by full military honors conducted at the funeral home.
Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead will be 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM Saturday.
