Elmer Huls Obituary

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 29, 2025, at St. Columbkille Catholic Church in St. Wendel for Elmer F. Huls, 93, of St. Wendel, who died Aug. 23 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Inurnment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be 9-10:45 a.m. Aug. 29 at the church.
Elmer was born Sept. 27, 1931, in St. Cloud, Minnesota, to John and Louise (Schimnich) Huls. He married Dolores Rudolph June 10, 1957, at St. Columbkille Catholic Church in St. Wendel. Elmer and Dolores farmed on the family farm in St. Wendel. He enjoyed visiting neighbors and friends and playing and watching baseball. Elmer loved to be with his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Dolores; children Patty (Dave) Hartung, Ann (Dennis) Hartung, Kathy (Tom) Fedor and Howard (Jean) Huls; sister Theresa Lahr; 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and two on the way.
Elmer is preceded in death by his son, Ronnie; granddaughter Carly; and siblings Oliver, Hubert, Robert, Joseph, Ernie, Rita and Harold.
Arrangements are with the Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond.
