Elmer Schwartz Obituary
Born in The Bronx, NY, to Eugene and Theresa (née Greenfield) Schwartz, he resided in Queens, NY for 27 years, before living in Monroe Township, NJ, and residing in East Brunswick, NJ.
Elmer was a US Air Force Veteran serving from 1954 to 1957 during the Korean War.
He was a 5-year post commander for Jewish War Veterans Post 609 in Monroe Township, NJ.
Prior to retiring, he was a pharmacist for Brooklyn Veterans Hospital in Brooklyn, NY for many years.
In his spare time, he was an avid award-winning photographer and grandpa extraordinaire.
Elmer is predeceased by his wife, Sylvia Frances, who passed in 2004; and his brother, David Schwartz.
Surviving are his son, Robert Schwartz of Los Angeles, CA; his daughter, Judith "Judi" Lebovitch and her husband, Benjamin, of East Brunswick, NJ; and his grandchildren, Eric Lebovitch and fiancé, Sami McCabe, Brandon Lebovitch-Talarico and spouse, Mia Lebovitch-Talarico, Dannielle Lebovitch and husband, Dr. Rich Maiman.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at 10:45 am, at New Montefiore Cemetery, 1180 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale, NY, under the direction of MOUNT SINAI MEMORIAL CHAPELS, East Brunswick, NJ. For directions, please view our "Events" listed below.
