Elmer Cecil White, age 86, passed away on January 26, 2026, in Spring Hill, Tennessee.
Cecil was born to Charlie and Irene White and lived a life marked by dedication, quiet enjoyment, and love for his family. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sylvia Silcox White, and his siblings Sylvia Cantaloube, Travis White, Pat Lira, and Beverly Brumback.
He is survived by his children, Anna (Greg) Sanford and James (Rebecca) White; his sister, Shirley Eaves; and his cherished grandchildren, Shawn Sanford, Jennifer Sanford, David Mwangi, and Megan Njeri, and many nieces and nephews all of whom brought him great pride and joy.
Cecil was a longtime employee of Owens-Illinois Glass Packing, where he was known for his strong work ethic and reliability. Outside of work, he found great pleasure in life’s simple comforts. He was an avid reader, especially fond of Western novels by Louis L’Amour, and he rarely missed a good Western on television. Music was another constant companion, and he particularly enjoyed listening to the Willie Nelson station on satellite radio.
Cecil will be remembered for his steady presence, his love of stories and music, and the quiet warmth he shared with those closest to him.
A graveside service will be 11:00 AM, Friday, February 6, 2026, at Oakmont Memorial Park in Lafayette, California.
