Elmer H. Zimmerman, 52, of Maxatawny Township, died peacefully, surrounded by his family, Saturday, December 27, 2025, in his residence. He was the husband of Arlene W. (Weaver) Zimmerman, whom he married November 2, 1995. Born in Maxatawny Township, Elmer was a son of Erma Z. (Hoover) Zimmerman, Kutztown, and the late Ammon H. Zimmerman. He was a member of the Groffdale Conference of Mennonites and attended Center Mennonite Church, Kutztown.
Elmer and his family owned and operated a dairy and crop farm.
Elmer is survived by his wife of 30 years, Arlene; his mother Erma; and his children: Elva Jane W. (Zimmerman) wife of Marvin H. Burkholder, Kutztown; Curvin W., husband of Kristine B. (Brubacher) Zimmerman, Kutztown; Jonathan W. Zimmerman, Kutztown; Ruth Ann W. (Zimmerman), wife of Justin B. Snyder, Fleetwood; Edna Mae W. (Zimmerman), wife of Marcus B. Zimmerman, Fleetwood; Edwin W. Zimmerman, Kutztown; Marlene W. Zimmerman, Kutztown; and Mary Grace W. Zimmerman, Kutztown. There are also seven grandchildren: Elwayne Z. Burkholder; Jacinda Z. Burkholder; LeAllen Z. Burkholder; Jayna B. Zimmerman; Karla B. Zimmerman; Randall Z. Burkholder; and Waldemar Z. Snyder. Other survivors include siblings: Alvin H., husband of Erma (Nolt) Zimmerman, Lewisburg; Elvin H., husband of Erla (Sauder) Zimmerman, Lewisburg; Ammon H., Jr., husband of Jane (Burkholder) Zimmerman, Kutztown; Esther H. (Zimmerman), wife of Allen N. Burkholder, Lewisburg; Anna Mae H. (Zimmerman, wife of Ralph W. Brubaker, Lewisburg; Erla H. (Zimmerman), wife of Waylon S. Nolt, Kutztown; Anita H. (Zimmerman), wife of Harold W. Nolt, Kutztown; Mother-in-Law, Lizzie F. (Wenger) Weaver, widow of Isaac H. Weaver, New Holland.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. from Center Mennonite Church, 80 Deysher Road, Kutztown, with Bishop Eli W. Burkholder, officiating. Interment in the adjoining Center Mennonite Church Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Thursday, January 1, 2026, from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. in Elmer's late residence, 15416 Kutztown Road, Kutztown, PA.
