WOLCOTTVILLE -Elmetta Slone, 87, of Wolcottville, Indiana, died on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Parkview LaGrange Hospital in LaGrange.
She was born Oct. 8, 1937, in Bulan, Kentucky, to Woots and Nannie (Gayheart) Terry.
On Dec. 16, 1954, in Henderson, Kentucky, she married Austin Slone. He preceded her in death on March 30, 2016.
Mrs. Slone had worked at Pent Electric in Rome City and retired from Weatherhead in Angola.
Surviving are a daughter, Sandra (Steven) Weyer, of South Bend; three sons, Vince Slone, of Battle Creek, Michigan, Joey Slone, of Howe and Bobby Slone, of Orrville, Ohio; five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Dobson, of Wawaka; and a brother, Henderson (Darlene) Terry, of Wawaka.
She was also preceded in death by two grandsons; a granddaughter; two sisters, Bonnie Jean Ritchie and Patty Sturgill; and a brother, Silas Terry.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 10, 2025, from 11 a.m. to noon, at Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, S.R. 9 North, Wolcottville.
Elmetta's funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at noon, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ken Weaver officiating.
Burial will follow at Woodruff Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to Ark Animal Sanctuary or Parkview LaGrange Hospice, both of LaGrange.
