Eloise Dowdy Obituary
Ms. Eloise Tallent Dowdy, 93, of Americus, passed away on February 24, 2025, at her residence. Memorial services will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025, at Shiloh Baptist Church at 11:00AM with Bro. Stephen Fripp and Rev. Hugh Harbort officiating.
Ms. Dowdy was born December 18, 1931, to Archie Guy and Margurite Elizabeth Cheek Tallent. She was a devoted member of Shiloh Baptist Church, where she was very active, having sung in the choir, being involved in Bible School, and a Sunday school teacher. Ms. Dowdy enjoyed singing gospel music, gardening, needle work and attending Bible studies. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Ed & Mary Tallent.
Survivors include her children, Richard Dennis “Rickey” Arrington of Americus, GA; two daughters, Judy Ann Christensen and her husband Robert of Newnan, GA, and Virginia F. Parrish of Forsyth, GA; five grandchildren, Dakota Reynolds, Jacob Christensen, Kyle Christensen, Heather Highnote (Marty), and Nicole Arrington; and a great-grandchild, Chandler Highnote.
