ELOISE A. HILFIGER

1938 - 2025

Eloise A. (Bower) Hilfiger, 87, of Covington, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at The Green Home in Wellsboro. She was born on October 6, 1938, in Blossburg, a daughter of John and Evelyn (Sherman) Bower. Eloise was married to the late Norman M. Hilfiger who passed away on November 16, 2019. She worked as a cashier at Bloss Holiday and was a member of Bakerburg Community Church. Eloise enjoyed reading, baking, and traveling to visit family.
Eloise is survived by her sons, Richard (June) Hilfiger of Elmira, N.Y., and Donald Hilfiger of Elmira, N.Y.; a daughter, Wanda Rumsey of Covington; three grandchildren, Kevin Rumsey, Janice (Brandon) Rumsey Proctor, and Jeremy (Rebekah) Hilfiger; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Richard (Ethel) Bower of Ohio, and Robert (Marilyn) Bower of Covington; two sisters, Jeanette Belz of Tioga, and Marcille Giles of Tioga; sisters-in-law, June Bower, Kathy Bower, and Brenda Bower; and a brother-in-law, John Roupp.
She was preceded in death by brothers, John Bower, Dale Bower, William Bower, David Bower; sisters, Jean (Richard) Ogden, Linda Roupp; son-in-law, Harvey Rumsey; two brothers-in-law, Gary Belz and Ronald Giles; and a daughter-in-law, Lisa Hilfiger.
Friends and family are invited to call on Sunday, December 21 from 2 to 3 p.m. at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield. A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. with Pastor Paul Binkley officiating. Burial will take place in Gray Cemetery in Covington.
