Eloise “Nana” Schultz, age 93 of Montello passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 15, 2025 at The Larson House in Columbus. Eloise was born in Merrill on May 25, 1932 to Ralph and Elsa (Hassel) Duranceau. She worked on the family farm and the Glove Factory until marrying Lawrence Schultz at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Merrill on June 24, 1950. He preceded her in death on September 5, 1995.
Eloise was a very strong and faithful woman, even as dementia took away her memory she always knew who her Lord and Savior was. She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Montello since 1962 where she served as a member of the Ladies Aid as well as a Lutheran Pioneer Leader. Eloise was food service supervisor and activity director for many years at the Montello Nursing Home and enjoyed babysitting, sewing, and baking. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a caring spirit that touched many lives throughout the years. Nana loved her family very much and cherished the time she was able to spend with them.
Eloise is survived by her four children: Debra (Steven) Parrish of Oxford, Timothy (Patti) of Endeavor, Mark of Cambria, and Becky (Rev. Joseph) Fricke of Johnson Creek, as well as nineteen grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Eloise is further survived by her sister-in-law, Aracely Duranceau, brother-in-law, James Schultz along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Eloise is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers: Alfred, Daryl, Lloyd, and Loren, sisters: Vivian, Ellen, Arline, Marilyn “Mert”, Fern, Iris, Goldie, Jeannie, and one infant sister. She is also preceded in death by two infant granddaughters: Shana and Rachel Schultz, grandson, Markus Schultz, daughter-in-law, Kammey Schultz, great-grandson, Jameson Abraham and many friends and neighbors, too many to mention.
A funeral service for Eloise Schultz will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Montello. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the hour of service. Pastor Pete Zietlow will preside and burial will follow at the Eastside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 313 E. Montello Street, Montello, 53949.
The family would like to thank Bristol Hospice and Larson House for their care and compassion of Nana in her final years.
