Eloise Slater Obituary

A graveside memorial service will be held Wednesday at 1 PM at the Haddock Family Cemetery.
Eloise grew up in the Clayroot community, graduating from Chicod High School. She worked for over 30 years at Empire Brush until her retirement. Eloise loved spending time at Twin Lakes Campground, where she was the self-proclaimed mayor. She cherished the memories and friendships she made there. She also enjoyed fishing, bowling, and traveling with friends and family. She was an excellent cook and was known for the delicious candy that she made.
Eloise was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Slater; and parents, Cyrus Atlas and Agnes Haddock Burroughs.
She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia (Casey) Taylor Heath and husband, Charles; son, Cyrus Taylor and wife, Linda; grandchildren, Scott Purser and Morgan Taylor Boyd and husband, Alex; and great-grandchildren, Dakota and Sophie Purser and Smith and Banks Boyd.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Blind Center, 221 N. Harvey St., Washington, North Carolina, 27889.
