Elroy John Schaefer

Elroy John Schaefer, age 93, of Conklin, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2024. He was born in Conklin, MI to the late George and Norma (Reister) Schaefer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Philip (Patricia) Schaefer; in-laws, Bernard (Bernice) McNitt, sister-in-law, Carolyn (Donald) Burgtorf and brother-in-law, Gerald Porter. Elroy enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, and was proud of his garden. He retired from the Ottawa County Road Commission. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 62 years, Marjorie Schaefer; children, Earl (Luella) Schaefer, Sharon (Bruce) Yonker, Keith (Mary) Schaefer; grandchildren, Zane (Nicole) Schaefer, Emma (Richard) Drost, Kristin (Tim) Bunker, Brandon (Kelsey) Yonker, Jonathon (Kayla) Schaefer, Trevor (Michaylla) Schaefer; 14 great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Gale (Marilyn) McNitt, sisters-in-law, Paulette Porter, Darlene Rayba; nephew, Phillip Schaefer and niece, Faith (Mike) Basil. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1379 Harding St, Conklin, MI 49403, with Rev. Mark Oswald officiating. Burial will take place in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church.
