Ms. Elsie Faye (Stout) Culp went to be with her Lord on Friday, December 12, 2025. She was born July 4, 1941, in Graford, Texas. Faye was next to youngest of 12 children, born to Seth and Antonia (Holloway) Stout. She married David Leon Cowley in 1957, and together they raised six children. She later married Dave Culp in 1990.
Faye was a very sweet, kind person spending most of her time raising her children and being a homemaker. Later she worked as a caregiver to the elderly. After Dave’s death in 1995, our 95-year-old mother asked Faye to move in with her. Faye did just that and it became a very special time for them. When our mother died in 2002, we all felt that Faye’s kindness and care had considerably lengthened our mother’s life.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and ten of her eleven siblings.
Faye is survived by her children, David Cowley, Debra Tanner, Frank Cowley and wife, Darla, Karen James and husband, Allen Boyd, Carla Zellner and husband, Fred, & Barbara Roemer and husband, David; 15 grandchildren; and 37 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara Pratt and husband, Jim; and numerous nieces and nephews.
We would like to thank the staff of both Carrara Nursing Home, Plano and Elysian Hospice-Dallas for the care given to Faye.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at White’s Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Avenue, Weatherford, Texas 76086, at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 27, 2025.
