Elsie May Holland, known by many as “ Nana”, was born in Raton, New Mexico, on February 1st, 1954, to James and Lillian Carruthers. She passed away peacefully on October 9, 2025, in her home surrounded by family.
She left her job at Aetna in 2006, to care for her granddaughter, Jordyn. Over the course of time she cared for many other kids including; Noah, Lucas, and Carley. It was the highlight of her life. She loved her family so much and her greatest passion in life was helping others.
Elsie married Kyle Holland in October of 1993. Her two children, Chelsie and Michael, and his two children, Athena and Nick, were brought together with this union.
She is preceded in death by her father James Carruthers, her mother Lillian Carruthers, and her brother Jim Carruthers.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 32 years, Kyle; her children; Chelsie, Michael, Athena, and Nick, two sisters Erin and Carol, five grand-children; Jordyn, Lucas, Makenzie, Karlie, Lincoln, one great-granddaughter Leilani, and a host of loving friends and family.
