Elsie Lew

September 3, 2025 Elsie Lew was called back by her Heavenly Father and rejoined her husband Quon. She is survived by her sisters Mary Shem, Lucille Lew and Anna Chu; sons Carlton (Maria Elena) and Bennett (Mandie) Lew; grandchildren Karis, Sean, Lauren, Camryn and Lillie Lew. She was preceded in death by her parents Sai Mun and Lim Shee Wong; brothers Edgar, Jan and Eddie Wong; sisters Wendy Wong, Lily Ng, Francis Pangtay and Meland Ng; husband Quon Lew. Elsie was passionate regarding her boys, practically dedicated her life to their upbringing for there was nothing she would not do selflessly for them- waking early every day to prepare homemade breakfast especially before school, taking them to all their soccer practices, washing countless dirty clothes, even sewing some of those clothes back in the day... She was equally dedicated to her church, First Chinese Baptist Church of San Antonio where she often served in various activities from Vacation Bible School with arts and crafts, helping prepare the monthly communion, helping wash the baptismal gowns… Attending her garden, reading, puzzles and visiting museums were just a few of her favorite hobbies. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband Quon around the world, from the Middle East to Australia, to Africa to Europe to China… Paris, San Francisco and New York City were just a few of her all-time beloved destinations. Over the years Elsie met and touched the lives of countless people, she will be missed by all who were fortunate to have known her.
