Elsie W. Nemesh, 85, of Bethlehem died on Monday, Dec. 28, 2009 in Alexandria Manor, Bethlehem. She was the wife of the late Ernest Nemesh, who died in 2002. Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Rose (Torok) Koczan. She had been a long time member of the former St. John Capistrano Catholic Church and was currently a member of Sacred Heart Church in Bethlehem Twp. Elsie graduated from Liberty H.S. in 1942 and was an active member of her community throughout her life. She volunteered for the ladies auxiliary at the former Hungarian Catholic Club, St. Bernard's and through her involvement with the MORA Club helped with Meals on Wheels and Channel 39. She loved playing pinochle, her "Friendship Club" and a good Polka. Elsie will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Patricia and her husband Robert Schoenen, Jr. of Bethlehem and Carol and her husband Jack Strobel of LaPorte, IN, a sister Helen Dickey of Bethlehem, her grandchildren Kristen Reese, Marc Schoenen, Brooke Schoenen. Jason Strobel and Christopher Strobel. She will also be missed by her 5 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister Irene Meszaros. Funeral services will begin at 9:15a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010 in the Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00a.m.in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1st St, Bethlehem Twp. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 8:15 -9:15a.m. Burial will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery. Please direct memorial contributions in Elsie's name to VNA Hospice of St. Luke's, 1510 Center Valley Parkway, Bethlehem, PA 18017
