Elsie Pyard Obituary
Elsie Kay Pyard, 88, of Paw Paw, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.
She was born June 1, 1937, in Cadillac, Michigan, the daughter of Irving Glenn Monroe and Zella (Westerbeck) Beaver.
Elsie loved to volunteer with her local organizations. She participated with the Van Buren County Senior Services and the Paw Paw Christmas in the Village Christmas Tree Auction. Elsie owned her beloved award-winning Corvette for many years and took it to many car shows. Elsie kept all of her trophies and medals and was honored to pass it along to her grandson. She had a nurturing spirit and was seen as a "second mom" to many of the children who lived in her neighborhood. Elsie will be deeply missed by her friends and family.
She is survived by her son, Kevin (Kae Capman) Pyard; grandchildren, Justin (Jessica Guillean) Bloomfield, Jacob Hainer, Amanda (Nic) Martinez, Joel Michael Pyard and Josh Pyard; great-grandchildren, Lennyx Bloomfield, Lucas Pyard, Megan Martinez, Collin Martinez, Evelyn Pyard, Gabriel Pyard, Micah Pyard and Levi Pyard; and two sisters, Beverly and Claudia.
Elsie was preceded in passing by her parents and husband, Joseph Pyard in 1973.
Cremation will take place. There will be a celebration of life party for Elsie in the spring of 2026.
