Elsie Sauer

Elsie Leona Sauer, 92, of Royston passed away Saturday, November 8, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Elsie Leona Strohschein was born in Montmorency County on May 23, 1933, to the late Herman and Victoria (Wolters) Strohschein. On September 22, 1951, she married Herman Sauer. He preceded her in death on February 16, 1976. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church.
Surviving are her 3 children, Wally (Laurie) Sauer, Terry (Michelle) Sauer, Karen (Drew) Stevens; grandchildren, Jenelle (Tom) Ward, Stacy (David) Horvath, Carrie (Eric) Cronk, Bryan (Emily) Sauer, Tiffany (A.J.) Kennard, Chelsea (Taylor) Noffze, Courtney (Justin) Metzke; great grandchildren, Jackson, Garrett, Emilee, Owen, Evelena, Blayne, Blair, Taryn, August, Mila, Preston, Lainey, Ellory, Tucker, Jaycee; sisters-in-law, Verna Jean Strohschein, Verla Strohschein, Janet Strohschein, Eleanor Strohschein, Esther Tocco; and many dearly loved nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Sauer was preceded in death by an infant sister, siblings, Agnes (Herman) Schalk, Esther (Alfred) Werner, Leo (Sarah) Strohschein, Ruth (Bob) Schlak, Herman Strohschein, Julius Strohschein, Johanna Strohschein, Raymond Strohschein; and Arthur Strohschein.
Visitation will take place at St. John Lutheran Church in Royston on Wednesday from 2 p.m. until the time of the prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue there on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jason Mandley officiating. Arrangements are being handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.
