The Gaddy Family,

You have our condolences for your loss and are in our thoughts and prayers. While practicing in Pensacola, Florida, Dr. Gaddy took care of my brother Marvin Lee until his transition in May, 2000. We appreciate and will always remember the compassionate care provided our loved one.

To the Family and Friends of my brother and friend Dr. Elton Gaddy. Though he was born in New Jersey, and I, in Florida, we both grew up together in 1960s through 1970s racially segregated Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Through our parents, we both called Fort Lauderdale's 33311 zip code home. We both grew up, and worshipped with our families, in the ALL-BLACK Historic First Baptist Church Pine Grove, Inc. of Fort Lauderdale (today, of Lauderdale Lakes). We --- Elton and I --- both were the sons of Broward County Elementary School Teachers---i.e. our mothers. We --- Elton and I --- both were the sons of fathers who were friends. In fact, Elton's father served as a Pall Bearer (of my father's coffin) during his, my dad's, home-going/ funeral celebration in May 1988. We --- Elton and I --- both were active members of First Baptist Church's first, pioneering, Boy Scouts of America Troop 165 in the 1960s and 1970s. As such we camped and fished and hiked in the Everglades, Camp Sebring in central Florida, Holiday Park in Fort Lauderdale, and elsewhere. We --- Elton and I --- both had a longstanding, continued, career, interest in health care and medicine (he became practicing physician and I, as a Medical Anthropologist, taught others who would become practicing physicians in this country and around he world. he last time we --- ELTON AND I --- communicated was sometime in 2008 in the airport in Orlando: He was headed north and me, south, to Fort Lauderdale. We -- Elton and I --- made it to our 60th birthday in this 2016 year. Sadly, for those of us left behind in this dimension called EARTH, Elton took the lead in returning to our Eternal home in the Third Heaven to our creator, ELOHIM/GOD, and our Lord and Savior, YESHUA HAMASHIACH/JESUS-THE-CHRIST. Brother Elton, may you indeed rest in peace; and, I look forward to the day when we re-connect throughout, have our re-union in, Eternity. Blessings!

My husband and I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Dr. Elkton at the Gaddy Family Reunion 2014. His illuminating demeanor and uplifting spirit drew me to him.
I would've never known that he was a doctor; He was so humble.
