Elton Moore Obituary
Mr. Elton Lee Moore, 78, of Burlington passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 9, 2024.
Elton was born December 26, 1945 in Caswell County to Paul and Carrie Moore. He was a faithful member of Pleasant View Assembly of God and proudly retired from Lorillard Tobacco with 31 years of service. A lifelong outdoorsman, Elton could often be found in the woods or by a pond, where he enjoyed hunting for deer and turkey and fishing. He proudly passed his love of nature down to his children and grandchildren. He also loved to mow his yard and took great pride in maintaining it. In addition to his parents, Elton was preceded in death by his sister, Marie Gerringer and brother, Wayne Moore.
Elton is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Brenda Garrison Moore; sons, Rodney Moore and Jeff Moore; grandchildren, Graham Lee Moore and Meadow Lee Moore; sisters, Mary Jean McKinney and husband Willard, and Peggy Patterson; and brothers, Ray Moore and Don Moore.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 14, 2024 at 3 PM at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1:45 – 2:45 PM prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Concord Christian Church Cemetery.
