Mr. Elverner McGee, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and cousin, was called home to our lord on April 18, 2025, at My Michigan Hospital in Saginaw, Michigan, age 89. He was a resident of Saginaw, Michigan.
Mr. Elverner McGee, affectionately known as “Top,” was born October 21, 1935, in Hickory Plains, Arkansas, to Pink and Ednora McGee.
Top served in the United States Army. Later in life, he worked at General Motors for over 30 years. He enjoyed reading the daily newspaper, sports (sports fanatic), hanging with friends at McDonald's, and spoiling his grandchildren. He enjoyed sharing his wisdom with many young men in the community and the family's history with anyone willing to listen.
Top’s memories will be cherished by his devoted wife for over 61 years Barbara McGee, sons; Reginald (Tonja) McGee of Bowling Green, Kentucky and Elvernie (Stacy) McGee Orlando Florida; special nephew/son Andre (Monique) Hubbard; grandsons, Torrey Dobbins, Torrey“ Toe” Dobbins Jr., both of Saginaw, Michigan, and Nick Clark, Jacksonville, Florida, and Reginald "Bone" McGee, Philidalphia, Pennslylvia; granddaughters, Simone, Cieria, and Cimir; special goddaughters, Meshelle (Ben) Mathis and Connie Sangster; special nephew, Danny Hubbard, Saginaw, Michigan; special nieces, Janice “Boo” McGee and Vickie McGee; special sister-in-law Mable Hubbard, Saginaw, Michigan; and special neighbor, Lillymae Cooper.
Top was preceded in death by his parents, Pink and Ednora McGee, daughter Luwanna Gail Dobbins, eight brothers, and four sisters.
