Elvira Louise "Vicki" McCombs

Elvira Louise (Vicki) McCombs, age 93, of Tracy, Iowa, passed away on Friday, October 10, 2025 at the MHP Serenity Hospice House surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on December 24, 1931 the daughter of Fred and Clara (Reeves)Simmons in Attica, Iowa. Elvira attended Attica Schools until her sophomore year. On April 17, 1948, she was united in marriage to Adelbert "Buddy" McCombs in Tracy. Buddy passed away in 1995.
Elvira was a homemaker for most of her life, raising her family and taking care of her home. She enjoyed reading, completing puzzles, hummingbirds and doing wood crafts.
She is survived by her children, Stephanie Rus of Tracy, Steven (Jody) McCombs of Tracy, Cindy (Ron) Voss of Oskaloosa, Melanie (Melvin) Wichhart of Tracy and Shannon McCombs of Tracy; 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren with another on the way. She is also survived by a son-in-law, Dan Beaver and several nieces and nephews.
Elvira was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, Tomma Lou Beaver, a grandson, Trevor Rus, numerous siblings and a son-in-law, Jim Rus.
As was her wish, cremation will take place and a private family graveside service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to MHP Serenity Hospice House.Elv
