Elvy Edward “Peanut” Reel, age 83 of Darlington School Road, Fisher, WV, passed away Sunday morning, July 17, 2022, at the Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, WV. Born on December 31, 1938, in Fisher, WV, he was a son of the late Woodrow William Reel and Lila May Kuykendall Reel. A son, Greg Reel and sisters, Mildred Miller and Linda Sue Pratt also preceded him in death.

Peanut retired from Southern States after 32+ years working in the Moorefield store and on the road. He retired so that he could take up farming and work on antique farm equipment of which he had collected many as well. Mindful of time, he was always checking his watch, but had a habit of buying and trying his luck at scratch off lottery tickets. He was a wonderful, loving husband, father, and pap; but mostly a friend to all.

Surviving is his wife of almost 58 years, Carolyn Godlove Dellinger Reel; three sons, “Bucky” (Mary McFaden) Reel of Fisher, WV, Kevin (Christine) Dellinger of Inwood, WV, and David (Stacey) Zelina of Moorefield, WV; a brother, William (Judy) Reel of Fisher, WV; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren with one on the way.

Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00 PM Thursday, July 21, 2022, at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington Street with Pastor Harold George officiant. The family will receive friends from 5 -7 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Due to the current COVID-19 recommendations, wearing of masks and social distancing by individuals unvaccinated is recommended.
