Elwood D. Seasholtz, 102, of Red Hill, PA, passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2023 at his home. He was the loving husband of the late Mildred H. (Schultz) Seasholtz with whom he spent 71 years of marriage before her passing in 2013.
Born in Pleasant Run, PA, he was the son of the late Daniel and Mary (Yerger) Seasholtz and raised by his foster parents, the late John and Ella (Yerger) Hilbert, after the death of his parents.
Elwood was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps and after his honorable discharge, he began his career as a welder with Bethlehem Steel Company. He retired as a supervisor after many years. After his retirement from Bethlehem Steel he enjoyed a part time job mowing fairways at Butter Valley Golf Course.
He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Red Hill, the Red Hill Fire Co., American Legion Perkiomen Post 184 and a lifetime member of the Red Hill VFW Post 5954. In his younger years, he was an avid bowler, bowling for East Greenville Fire Co. and the American Legion, an avid softball player, playing for the Pennsburg Rams, and an avid golfer. He also loved watching and cheering on the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles.
Surviving are two children; Roseann, widow of Thomas Olsommer and Donna Seasholtz; daughter-in-law, Dalene Seasholtz; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
He is predeceased by wife; two children, Arlin Seasholtz and Pamela Burke; two sisters; and a brother.
A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, PA 18041 with a burial following in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Red Hill. Family and friends may attend a visitation from 10 to 10:45 AM. You may offer condolences and share memories by visiting www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Tails of Valor Paws of Honor, PO Box 127 Coopersburg, PA 18036.
